2016 Peak Foliage

Peak foliage at camp was absolutely stunning! We have been snapping away, trying to capture the fall for those that could not be here. We have a collection photos here for you to enjoy!

Some leaves start to change in early September and through the season different species follow, staging an ongoing show of rich fall colors for to visitors to enjoy.

The deer have grown their thick, greyish-brown, winter coats, male fawns are showing off their little antlers and larger bucks are finding their way to camp for mating season.

The water level drops significantly in the late summer, resulting in lots of exposed shoreline perfect for exploring on foot during the fall months. Only in the fall can you walk straight out to the small island by the marina and this year and almost to the Bald Eagles nest.

Along with the beautiful foliage, the moon put on a show of its own this month. It shone high in the sky as if it were special ordered for a beautiful October wedding right here at Tomhegan. Mr. & Mrs. Fawcett and their guests were able to enjoy the Hunter’s moon by a crackling lake-side fire, under a beautiful night sky.
