Winter Is Not Just for Ice Fisherman

This winter we have been lucky to have guests with all interests! We have had our traditional winter groups of guys coming to fish and snowmobile, lots of families coming to teach the young ones to fish as well as groups of friends and families venturing out for completely different winter activities!

Are you not a winter person? Are you more interested in staying warm by the wood stove while viewing the beautiful snow through the window of a quaint cabin? We’ve got a cabin for you! Bring puzzles, games and crafts to enjoy inside while you stay cozy warm. Read that book you have been meaning to finish or crochet that new bun hat everyone is raving about while sipping your favorite warm beverages.

Do you want to enjoy the snow but not into fishing or snowmobiling? Our manager Samantha isn’t either. She suggests snowshoeing the Tomhegan trails, cross country skiing the road, go out for a beautiful walk or heading to Squaw for a day of downhill skiing and snowboarding. Sledding down some of the cabin lawns and building snowmen and snow forts is a great deal of fun and with all the snow that we have had so far, snow people are popping up all over! If you are feeling even more adventurous, the Moosehead Pinnacle Pursuit has a winter challenge. How awesome would it be to see the views from Mt. Kineo when covered in snow?

Why stay in a bustling city where the snow turns into a slushy brown annoyance when you can escape to the woods and relax, unplug and enjoy the snowflakes while staying warm and comfortable. The local towns anxiously wait for this season all year-long and are eager to have guests stop in to celebrate winter with them. Won’t you join us, too? Check our online calendar for availability.  Hope to see you soon!
